Pelvic Venous Disorder (PeVD) or Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) Support

The many years of chronic pain as well as the dismissing of their symptoms by friends, family and even some d5octors have a major psychological impact on the lives of patients with Pelvic Venous Disorder (PeVD) or formerly known as Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS).

Even after treatments have corrected the abnormal blood flow in the veins of the pelvis, pain memory can remain in some patients. In addition, the heavy and prolonged periods as well as pain during sexual intimacy can add tremendous emotional strain to their relationships with their partners. Some patients also end up with dependency on pain-killing medications including addiction to opioid medicines, which are narcotics prescribed by doctors to manage persistent or severe pain.

Venus PeVD Support Group

The Venus PeVD Support Group is another unique initiative at The Venus Clinic that is being developed by us to help patients navigate their emotional journey and to discuss their symptoms, concerns and treatment options.

This is a forum led by former patients where women who have or think they might have Pelvic Venous Disorder (PeVD) or previously known as Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) can speak with former patients who have walked though this treatment journey with the Venus Clinic Team.

Originally planned as a monthly in-person evening, the current COVID pandemic and the restrictions it imposes mean that an online discussion platform is needed. We hope to have that running soon and shall post regular updates on this.
